People and animals at the Blessing of Animals serviceBlessing of Animals a “great success”

The Blessing of the Animals service at Allerton United Reformed Church (autumn 2018) was a great success.

Pets - including dogs, a cat, rabbits, guinea pigs and even a couple of large, cuddly stuffed toys - all received a certificate and a blessing from the Minister, Revd Tim Meadows.

"All creatures, great and small” were very well behaved and around 30 owners, from a wide age range, went home happy and content that their beloved pets had been recognised for the happiness they bring.

The service is based on the example set by St Francis of Assisi - "God requires that we assist the animals when they need our help. Each being, human or creature, has the same right of protection".
