Coronavirus is having a major impact on charity events and the government’s health advice may lead to some charities having no choice but to decide to cancel or postpone their AGMs and other critical meetings and as we are in AGM season churches are wondering what to do if they have to cancel their meeting, under the present circumstances.
The following link https://www.gov.uk/government/news/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-for-the-charity-sector
gives advice from the charity commission.
In many cases the churches do not deal directly with the
commission and the advice would be to record the decision to cancel the AGM and
reschedule it for a date in the future when it is safe to do so.
This would enable the ratification of the annual report and
accounts by the church meeting.

issues giving concern please contact email@example.com
