What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows charities to claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated, significantly increasing the value of donations at no extra cost to the donor.
How does it work?
The donation must come from a UK taxpayer, and they need to complete a Gift Aid Declaration Form, this allows the church to claim the gift aid on what they have donated.
Keep records
Churches must a record of Gift Aid Declarations for a minimum of six years.
