Mersey Synod seek to appoint a new Synod Clerk. The person will be an excellent administrator, strong team player and be committed to seeing Mersey Synod grow into the future. This is a part time, permanent post of up to 30 hours per week. The salary is £32,500-£44,000 pa. FTE.

The Plum Project, an initiative of the Uniting Church in Garden Lane, played a vital role in Wings of the Sky, a creative arts production rooted in the Sanctuary Seeking movement. The project was designed to involve local people seeking sanctuary through participatory arts and culminated in a moving performance at Chester Cathedral as a prelude to Refugee Week. Funding for Plum’s contribution to Wings of the Sky came from a combination of sources: Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWACC), the Mersey Synod Mission Grant, and individual donations.

It was wonderful to have so many URC Mersey Synod churches at the Living Faith Day, a celebration of the Synod theme for the next two years. The event considered the question: How do we live as disciples in our everyday lives? The interactive day of talks, discussions, workshops and resources were designed to help churches think about 'Living Faith' every day.

As we move our focus from Talking Faith to Living Faith, it’s a good idea for us to consider the direction of travel that we take. As we journey through Living Faith, this should not stop our desire to talk faith, as part of Living Faith is finding ways to ‘invite’ others to the life we have discovered.
