Upton URC support Tree of Life Mosaic

Tree of Life Mosaic

Minister for Upton URC, Revd Ruth Wilson, offered a message of hope and prayer at the recent unveiling of a Tree of Life mosaic, to reflect upon and remember the lives of those who have died of Covid.

Revd Ruth gave thanks to the Countess of Chester Country Park and the work of the Friends in arranging the mosaic and creating a safe and comfortable place for people to visit and reflect; to remember their loved ones and move forward in hope and love.

The event was organised by the Friends of The Countess of Chester Country Park and the mosaic, by artist Aleta Doran, was unveiled by the Deputy Mayor of Chester West and Chester, Cllr Sheila Little, with a poem being read by former Upton Parish Councillor, Jill Houlbrook.

Upton URC’s links with the Friends of the Countess of Chester started at a networking event organised by Chester Zoo to celebrate their Wildlife Champions project which Upton URC and the Friends have been involved in. During Summer 2022, Chester Zoo helped with Wacky Wednesday at Upton URC and worked with the young people to create a bug hotel in the church garden.
