Allerton Junior Worship Group: URC Group Service in the Mission of God Award

The Allerton Junior Worship Group have achieved their URC Group Service in the Mission of God Award. They received the award for a number of reasons, including making items for sale at three church fayres and giving up their time to run the stalls and sell what they had made.

The Group has raised large sums of money and donated these funds their chosen charities (Asylum Link, The Whitechapel Centre and the Disasters Emergency Fund). They have also collaborated with members of the uniformed organisations and their leaders, to present an Earth Hour Service in March 2022, which was very well received by those that attended. For this service, they wrote prayers, chose hymns and participated by reading, singing or speaking at the service and have also helped with tasks around the church like putting chairs out and clearing up.

If you have a children's or youth group in your church who you would like to nominate for this award, please get in touch with Steven Mitchell.
