At Macclesfield & Bollington URC, the church family has been busy spreading joy both near and far through two heartwarming initiatives.
Hands That Knit, Hearts That Give
Janet White and Joyce Dawson, alongside a dedicated team from St Clements Court, have been knitting tirelessly to bring comfort to children in Ukraine. Coordinating with Silklife Foodbank, Janet arranged for a consignment of beautifully crafted items to be sent overseas at the end of September.
"It started with a ball of wool and a prayer," Janet shared. "Each hat, blanket, and jumper carried a little hope stitched into it. We may be far away, but through our knitting, we’re close in spirit to every child who receives these gifts."
Their compassion and creativity remind us that small acts of kindness can travel great distances.
Fun and Friendship Day 2025
Townley Hall came alive with laughter, music, and fellowship. The long-awaited Fun and Friendship Day began with prayer and refreshments, welcoming guests from across the region.
The Mad Hatters returned in their signature jazzy attire, delighting the crowd with songs and banter. Helen, the Church Administrator, kept the energy flowing with a lively game of bingo, and the Beartown Ukes had everyone tapping their feet with their ukulele tunes.
Thanks to a generous grant from Mersey Synod, the church were able to offer a delicious lunch and afternoon tea, making the day accessible and memorable for all.
These events reflect the heart of Macclesfield & Bollington URC’s mission: to serve, connect, and uplift. Whether through outreach abroad or celebration at home, they continue to build bridges of love and friendship.
